But Keira Knightley apparently no longer calls England home.

The 25-year-old actress, pictured shooting a commercial for Chanel in Paris, has apparently left Britain to settle in the US, according to official company documents.

Paperwork lodged with Companies House shows Knightley, listed as director of her firm Ponder Rights, has changed her country of usual residence to the US.

Her decision will inevitably raise questions over whether the millionaire star is moving abroad to avoid the UK's higher taxes.

She has certainly been on the move recently. She had been living in a loft apartment in East London, owned by her mother. Then she and boyfriend actor Rupert Friend, 28, were said to have set up home on a canal boat in the city.

Last month there were reports they had bought a £1.9 million (Dh10.74 million) country retreat in France after Knightley apparently tired of life in London.
